Aeroflot and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan signed an agreement on IT developments on the basis of Innopolis University

Aeroflot and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan will launch a joint IT development program for civil aviation on the basis of Innopolis University. The agreement was signed by Aleksey Pesoshin, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Kirill Bogdanov, Deputy General Director of Information Technology of Aeroflot. 

The parties will work on the projects focused on safety of flights, and development of technologies improving accessibility of air transportation. The agreement covers innovative solutions on optimization of the surface aviation infrastructure by means of new information and logistic systems.

Employees of Innopolis University will implement research and development of projects on air transport. The potential projects are: a unified IT system for scheduling and allocation of air vehicles, a cross-platform system for special transport control, a software for radio communication practice with speech recognition, a mobile application for flight attendants, and an online Aeroflot service guide.

It is planned to involve the Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) a platform for exploration of combined reality technologies that help to visualize the glide path.

In addition to research and development, Innopolis University will provide Aeroflot with personnel training services. The Russian IT University will run educational programs, internships and advanced training opportunities in the following areas: choice and implementation of the company’s IT strategies, Big Data management, machine learning, information security management, and enterprise project management.

According to Kirill Semenikhin, Director of Innopolis University: “We highly appreciate such a trust and look forward to cooperation with new partners in the civil aviation area. The University has all necessary competencies to do that. We collaborate with a hundred of leading IT companies in Russia, and have 82 faculty members with industry experience”.
