Innopolis University formed a Russian national team junior to take part in the International Tournament in Informatics in Bulgaria

On July 1—14, the Central Subject-Oriented Teaching Commission on Informatics together with Innopolis University and Innopolis Lyceum held a training boot camp among schoolchildren. As a result, 5 schoolchildren from the Republic of Tatarstan got in the Russian national team. 

In total, 33 schoolchildren of 7—8 forms — participants of the reginal and final stages of the Russian Olympiad on Informatics for Schoolchildren from different parts of Russia — the Volga Region, Central Region, Ural Region, Far-Eastern Region, North-West Region, Siberia, Southern Federal Districts and Moscow — took part in the event. 

According to results of the selection rounds, members of the Russian national informatics team were chosen to participate in the International Tournament in Informatics 2017 in Shumen, Bulgaria. In particular, 5 schoolchildren from Tatarstan —representatives of Kazan Lyceum No. 131, Lobachevsky Lyceum of Kazan Federal University, and IT Lyceum of Kazan Federal University joined the team. As part of the selection events, 10 mentors of regional teams took training on advanced teaching methods in Olympiad training for gifted children. 

In 2009, the National Olympiad on Informatics held in Bulgaria in 2001 was granted a status of the International Tournament. Russian schoolchildren have been taking part in the competition since 2014 under support of the Central Subject-Oriented Teaching Commission on Informatics. Starting from this year, members of the Russian national team are selected during the annual training boot camp among the juniors that will be held in Innopolis by the Commission, Innopolis University and Innopolis Lyceum.
