94 participants are competing for joining the Russian national team that will take part in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO), to be held in New Delhi, India, in November 2016.

For eight days, Innopolis University has become the main platform of the Russian educational robotics, here the winners of the Russian Robot Olympiad held at the IT-University on June 25-26 are now engaged in the ultimate contest.

Every day 94 participants from 17 regions of Russia program robots and compete in four areas: the Regular Category, Robot Football, Bowling and preparation of creative projects for the Open Category. Talented young people of 10-19 years are getting ready for WRO under the guidance of experienced instructors from different cities of Russia. During the training, participants of the Olympiad receive feedback and necessary instructions that will help them to achieve the best results in robotics at the upcoming international competition.

Starting from the Russian Robot Olympiad, young robotic enthusiasts have been showing impressive results which were appreciated by the Minister of Telecom and Mass Communication of the Russian Federation Nikolay Nikiforov: "It is amazing! I have not seen anything like this! What you do is a tremendous and great job». The Minister added that these young people would digitalize the Russian economy. Not long ago, Nikolay Nikiforov claimed that Russia is going to apply for hosting the WRO finals in 2018.

Rector of Innopolis University Alexander Tormasov noticed that the level of participants is improved every year. That is why the winners of the Olympiad will not just represent Russia at the competition in India, but also receive study grants from Innopolis University to enrol in Bachelor's degree programs (for school graduates) and Master's degree programs (for current students). The final list of members of the Russian national team to join the WRO 2016 will be announced on August 12 after summing up of the competition results.
