Representatives from 15 regions of Russia and 4 CIS countries have joined the event

This Monday the new Russian IT-university in Innopolis city has opened a Summer School in cooperation with Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Dmitry Kondratyev, Director of Innopolis University, has started the event with a welcome speech in the university campus, told the participants about the origin of the university, academic programs and wished them spend quality time working in the project framework. The week-long event will include survey lectures on current issues of Deformable Medium Mechanics and their application to engineering tasks.

This is the 7th Summer School organized by the Supercomputer Technologies Research and Education Center. Innopolis University takes part in delivering of the Summer School for the third time. This year the educational and research complex of the university in Innopolis city will serve as a new platform for the School. Among the lecturers is Bharat Soni, the Vice President of Tennessee Tech University, USA, a well-known expert in high performance computing and its applications.

Young researchers from all parts of Russia from Saint Petersburg to Vladivostok applied for the Summer School. Students and postgraduates from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan joined the Summer School for the first time.

“This year the main topic of the Summer School is more concise and specific than before. The audience will have to solve testing tasks on elliptical equations encountered in the theory of elasticity, computational geometry and image recognition. According to submitted applications, participants of the Summer School are enthusiastic young researchers who carry out scientific studies in these areas. Some of the audience members would like to undertake Master’s degree studies at Innopolis University and think that the Summer School is not just a platform for acquisition of new knowledge but also a great opportunity to learn more about the university. All the lecturers aim to make these 8 work days useful for the audience in terms of new learning experience, and make them pass in the atmosphere of fruitful communication, establishment of new contacts and exchange of ideas on novel developments”, said Aleksey Lobanov, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, professor, author of more than 150 scientific papers and lector at the Summer School.
