The Olympiad will be one of the key events in the opening of the new Russian university.

Innopolis University and CERN have concluded the Collaboration agreement. The parties are to cooperate in different research areas as designing and developing methods and tools for quality assurance in scientific computing, research and developing means of identity certification and brokering in elastic hybrid computing platforms, Citizen Cyber Science and social media governance research and dissemination, and designing an algorithm to facilitate meaning extraction in distributed conversations.

Reference: CERN is the largest particle physics laboratory in the world, here the fundamental structure of the Universe is studied. Many scientific breakthrough discoveries have been made in this center e.g. the Higgs boson has been found at CERN. In 2013, the laboratory received the Niels Bohr International Gold Medal, the UNESCO award for international cooperation between scientists. The organization celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2014.

Russia is an observer state at CERN, this allows our country to participate in various projects. This year Russia is expected to become an associate member of the organization. Currently around 900 Russian researchers and engineers work at CERN.
