Innopolis University opened the first IT-Championship based on the WorldSkills standards

On December 11-15, 100 competitors from 15 Russian regions will demonstrate professional IT competences in order to facilitate a staff acquisition process for the Russian digital economy. 

The industry championship 'DigitalSkills' hosts experts from IT companies, higher education and vocational education students, and freelancers from Moscow, Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Tatarstan, Novgorod Region, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Voronezh Region, Sverdlovsk Region, Smolensk Region, Ulyanovsk Region, Chelyabinsk Region, Tomsk Region, Kostroma Region.

The championship participants compete in the IT disciplines according to the WorldSkills Competition standards and in competences of the Russian 'FutureSkills' initiative, which unites the professions of the future.

120 experts will assess the participants' skills. The experts represent Russian and international leading IT companies such as 1С, Rostelecom, Kaspersky Lab, Infowatch, Yandex, Sberbank Technology, MTS, Cyber Russia, Russian Quantum Center, Redmadrobot, Fanuc, Cisco and etc.

In the framework of the event on December, 11 the technology park n.a. A.D. Popov  hosted the DigitalSkills Championship joint plenary session and The All-Russian research and practice conference 'Training of ICT specialists for the Russian digital economy'. The speakers were: Nikolay Nikiforov, Minister for Telecom and Mass Communication of Russia, Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, Lubov Elzova, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection, Ludmila Ogorodova, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Alexander Tormasov, Rector of Innopolis University, Robert Urazov, CEO of the “Young Professionals” Union (WorldSkills Russia) .

Moreover, on December 12-13, the expert session 'Actual, new and ambitious Digital Skills' and the round table 'The digital child: new educational approaches’ will take place at Innopolis University.
