Employees of the Russian IT University will develop practical and theoretical tasks, provide a simulation platform for robots and offer a pre-competition training for teachers and schoolchildren. Deadline for registration is October 22. The first selection round will be held on October 1-31 during the registration period.

This year, as part of the Olympia of the National Technology Initiative, employees of Innopolis University will organize 2 sections — Intelligent Robotic Systems and Software Engineering in Financial Technologies. The new sections will include tasks for the off-site selection and the final competition round, simulation platform, expert support and training events for teachers and schoolchildren. In March of the coming year, Innopolis University will host the final stage of the competition in the category of Software Engineering in Financial Technologies.

Intelligent Robotic Systems:
Participants work on projects supervised by the companies focused on development of robotic equipment for logistic centres. The teams will create sensors for a mobile land platform based on TRIK controller and develop software control that will help to calculate the best routes and examine the logistic centre. This year, the section joined the list of academic competitions for schoolchildren, i.e. the winners and prize-holders will be able to get 100 scores at the Unified State Exam on Computer Science as part of university admission tests.

Software Engineering in Financial Technologies:
Participants design decentralized applications based on blockchain technologies and Internet of Things to improve interaction between companies producing batteries for e-vehicles, service centres that swap the batteries and owners of e-vehicles. The teams will develop solutions that control authenticity of swapped batteries and thus ensure quality and durability.

“Competitions of the National Technology Initiative is a tool to promote software engineering education and facilitate early career orientation. According to results of the previous year, participants are interested in real tasks and problems. For this reason, we decided to increase the engagement of Innopolis University in the Olympiad activities”, — explained Alexey Khabibullin, Head of the Office of Project-Oriented Academic Competitions.

Olympiad of the National Technology Initiative is a Russian academic competition on software engineering for students of 9-11 forms. The Olympiad includes 17 sections and 3 stages: individual selection, team-based selection and final challenge where participants use real software to demonstrate their skills.
