The XXIX Russian Olympiad on Informatics and ICT for Schoolchildren gathered 257 people from 50 regions

Innopolis University has officially opened the final stage of the competition.

Participants of the Olympiad will go through with three competition stages: the trial tour, the first and final round. The jury will announce winners on March 31 at the closing ceremony of the Olympiad.

The largest delegations came from Moscow — 70 participants, Saint Petersburg — 35 participants, Chelyabinsk Oblast — 22 participants, Republic of Tatarstan — 21 participants, Moscow Oblast — 12 participants. Innopolis University provided training for the team of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Organisers of the Olympiad prepared an entertaining part for students — tours to Kazan and Sviyazhsk, robotic show and lectures by Russian IT experts.

At the opening ceremony of the Olympiad participants were welcomed by Olga Vasilyeva, Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Roman Shaykhutdinov, Minister of Information and Communication of the Republic of Tatarstan, Engel Fattahov, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kirill Semenikhin, Director of Innopolis University and Irina Litvin, Deputy Director of the Department of the State Policy in the Sphere of General Education of the Russian Ministry of Education.

“The best young programmers from all parts of Russia gathered at Innopolis. These are people willing to promote the Russian IT industry in future and we are glad that the Russian Olympiad on Informatics and ICT took place here, at Innopolis University”, — commented Olga Kornienko, Head of the Subject-Oriented Academic Competitions Office.
