Innopolis University signed a memorandum of understanding with University of Ljubljana, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, and Iskratel company

The parties agreed on joint research projects, exchange of specialists and training of personnel specializing in Information Technology and Robotics.

The agreement was concluded on February 10 in Moscow during Russian-Slovenian business meeting in the framework of an official visit of Borut Pahor, President of the Republic of Slovenia.

The document was signed by Alexander Tormasov, Rector of Innopolis University, Ivan Svetlik, Rector of University of Ljubljana, Samo Hribar Milič, General Manager of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, and Željko Puljić, CEO of Iskratel.

The scope of the memorandum includes joint research projects, and professional training of personnel specializing in Information Technology and Robotics. The sides also agreed to explore cooperation prospects in the following areas: exchange of publications and other academic research information of common interest; exchange of faculty members, researchers, and students for lectures, visits, joint experiments, and implementation of other collaborative projects; exchange of administrative staff for learning best practices.

The idea of cooperation was initiated by Nikolay Nikiforov, Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, and Karl Erjavec, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, during the XII Russian-Slovenian Intergovernmental Commission for Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation.
