Students of Innopolis University have a chance to get academic experience accumulated by leading European universities. The University has signed agreements with Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, the University of Bonn (Germany), the University of Innsbruck (Austria), and Harbour.Space, a University for Technology and Design in Barcelona (Spain). The estimated period of academic mobility is one or two semesters.
Innopolis University is ready to accept exchange students from other partner universities. Moreover, the agreements will extend academic, cultural and professional ties between the universities and countries.
Aleksey Bandura, a 4th year Bachelor student, is among the first representatives of Innopolis University who have started exchange studies in Europe:Aleksey takes Computer Science courses at Harbour.Space, a University for Technology and Design in Barcelona. According to the signed agreements, participants of exchange programs do not pay for studies at partner universities.
This year the Russian IT University has sent another five students abroad to participate in the academic mobility initiative for the autumn semester. Besides, Innopolis University welcomed a foreign student from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
"We have agreed on academic exchange with 12 foreign universities and keep negotiating with a number of Russian higher education institutions on the similar issue. This form of cooperation allows students to obtain knowledge and skills at strong universities worldwide, expand their academic curriculum, develop cross-cultural communication skills, thus improving their professional qualification", - noticed Elmira Shimchik, Director for International and Academic Cooperation of Innopolis University.
She emphasized that studies at Innopolis University are attractive for individuals coming from other educational institutions in the context of academic mobility: "In the autumn semester the University has welcomed Dauren Baytursyn from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and we hope to increase the number of foreign exchange students".
Sapienza University of Rome, Italy (Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza")
Founded in 1303, this Italian university is among the oldest in Europe. Sapienza University of Rome is considered to be the largest European educational institution according to the number of full-time students, which is 180,000 people so far. The list of outstanding alumni and employees of the university includes laureates of the Nobel Prize Enrico Fermi, Emilio Gino Rogé and Daniel Bovet, Italian film director Federico Fellini and Evangelista Torricelli, author of the concept of atmospheric pressure and a student of Galileo Galilei.
